who-stole-my-cheese
Who Moved My Cheese?: An Amazing Way to Deal with Change in Your Work and in Your Life by Spencer Johnson and Kenneth Blanchard
Or they will discount it as worthless advice. I think that the people who stand to gain the most from this enlightening story are those who are already open to change and have already recognized the need to venture out into the maze. This could just be the push that they need. The book helps you to let go and conquer your fear of a situation. We each have our own story and a detailed book cannot possibly give any more instructions for our own lives than this simple one does. Available

why-we-buy Why We Buy: The Science of Shopping--Updated and Revised for the Internet, the Global Consumer, and Beyond by Paco Underhill
This book are absolutely fascinating. It's an in depth look at the psychology of shopping and it is exactly what the title promises. Underhill's company gets paid to spy on people in stores and see what they're doing wrong and right. The gems in this book are the anecdotes and the specific revelations about how any obstacle you put in the way of a shopper drops your sales figures. Any way you can make life easier raises your sales. This all seems sort of obvious, but most people running the businesses don't think it through.
socialnomics
Socialnomics: How Social Media Transforms the Way We Live and Do Business by Erik Qualman Qualman insightfully advises companies to patiently build relationships with customers through social media, rather than instantly getting a customer's name and e-mail address into its database. "Good businesses realize that it's not all about the instant win of getting someone into a database," he says. "Rather it is cultivating that relationship via social media. If it's done correctly, you will have a relationship that lasts a lifetime." Throughout the book he tries, but doesn't quite succeed, to show how to "correctly" cultivate such relationships.
fish
Fish! A Remarkable Way to Boost Morale and Improve Results by Stephen C. Lundin, Harry Paul, John Christensen and Ken Blanchard This book is a quick read, with principles that are easy to grasp and apply. Laughter and fun are great bridge builders between people - I encourage you to try The Fish and see how these principles are used to build bridges not only at a renowned fish market in Seattle, but between people within a back room department and other departments.

7-habits The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey
When I first got this book I found it hard going. It is not until I got my hands on the audio file by Stephen Covey himself I truly understood what a remarkable lesson this was. Steven postulates that you cannot manage time, you can only manage yourself. By focusing on what is important rather then urgent you will transform how you do things. All you have to get over is the slow voice and the US accent in the audio.

raving-fans Raving Fans: A Revolutionary Approach To Customer Service by Ken Blanchard, Sheldon Bowles and Harvey Mackay This book saved my company! I've been a struggling small business owner thinking my problem was either that I was undercapitalized or that I had hired the wrong people. Raving Fans was a wake up call. The problem was I wasn't creating raving fans. I was satisfied if my customers were satisfied, but I learned in this book that service is so bad that customers expectations are low. It's easy to satisfy low expectations and it doesn't mean very much. You have to create raving fans. Customers who tell others how wonderful you are.
mindpower Mind Power into the 21st Century by John Kehoe
With so many books to choose from on the topic of the power of positive thought, it can be challenging to decide which one to pick. You need a book that is clear and concise, one that makes sense, and one that has helpful advice to help you achieve your goals. Mind Power Into the 21st Century is such a book.
good-to-great Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap...And Others Don't by Jim Collins
Jim Collins and his team have done an enormous amount of interesting work to determine whether a good company can be come a great company, and how. The answer to the former question is "yes," assuming that the 11 of 1435 Fortune 500 companies did not make it there by accident.

rich-dad
Rich Dad, Poor Dad: What the Rich Teach Their Kids About Money-by Robert T. Kiyosaki Where do you learn about money? School? No! Too busy memorizing war dates. Parents? Possibly, but not likely. If you dislike this book you have probably bought into the Great Lie of go to school, get a job and after 40 years you get a gold watch.

hope-is-not Hope Is Not a Strategy: The 6 Keys to Winning the Complex Sale by Rick Page Hope Is Not a Strategy is most valuable for those who are new to large account and large ticket selling. For those with lots of experience, the book is helpful in providing a structure for sales team planning and coordination. As a test of the book's relevance, I took a potential sale that our firm is wrestling with and put it through the process. A number of valuable insights came from pursuing Mr. Page's process that would probably not have otherwise become part of our approach. Whether the sale will succeed or not, I don't know, but our effort definitely became more effective as a result
tipping-point The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference by Malcolm Gladwell
Malcolm Gladwell, a staff writer for New Yorker Magazine, in The Tipping Point, writes a fascinating study of human behavior patterns, and shows us where the smallest things can trigger an epidemic of change. Though loaded with statistics, the numbers are presented in a way that makes the book read like an exciting novel. Gladwell also gives several examples in history, where one small change in behavior created a bigger change on a national level. He also studies the type of person or group that it takes to make that change.
peaceful-warrior
Way of the Peaceful Warrior: A Book That Changes Lives by Dan Millman This book is truly inspiring, mind-opening and will change the way you look at life forever. It shows you the great possibilities that are in store for every human being. In this respect I find this book extremely powerful and helpful.

outliers Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell The main tenet of Outliers is that there is a logic behind why some people become successful, and it has more to do with legacy and opportunity than high IQ. In his latest book, New Yorker contributor Gladwell casts his inquisitive eye on those who have risen meteorically to the top of their fields, analyzing developmental patterns and searching for a common thread.
